This is the Season to Remember & Become
This is the season to become clean again. I don't mean it from the sense that we are sinners and we are dirty, not from a place of guilt and austerity, but from a place of integrity and remembrance of who we are, stepping into who we know we are deep down.
It is the season of reflection. To really take a sobering look at who we have been showing up as, for ourselves and for others, and decide what skin we need to shed in order to emerge more ourselves, more aligned with who we truly desire to be.
The thing about this process is we think we need to do more. But it is not a matter of doing, it is a becoming and unfolding. We only need to allow the version of ourselves that we aspire to be to come through. It is a decision to live with a certain integrity that speaks to every other decision we make. It is not always the what but the how we live that is key. The awareness by which we live, the awareness in which we speak, act, relate.
It always boils down to the same thing: remember who you are and become it.
The question is, what does it mean to remember who you are?
There is a quietude behind the noise of living that speaks to this. You must listen and really seek to see yourself clearly, to admit to yourself where you have not been living in your integrity, and then awaken to your ability to consciously choose to do, think, see, and become different, yet more yourself.
This is not always an overnight process. Sometimes we become aware we need to shift and it takes us a while from deciding to become to the actual choice to do it. Which is okay, you cannot rush becoming. You can only choose it and then walk in the direction of it.
Why is this the perfect time to reflect? Winter, Mercury Retrograde, being human... You don't need a reason. It is always the perfect time to remember who you are.
Today, set a 10-minute timer and see if you can find a still seat with your back supported. Simply sit with yourself, your breath, nowhere to go, nothing to do. Simply to sit and to be with yourself, your thoughts, your sensations, your unease, whatever arises.
Then do this for a week and see what you become.
