Endings, Beginnings, and Everything In Between: Thank you, 2024!
As the year rapidly approaches its end, I find myself caught between two mindsets: one racing toward the finish line and another whispering, “Whatever doesn’t get done today will find its way into 2025.”
The closing of the year invites reflection—an opportunity to come to terms with a few fundamental truths:
Is life today better than it was a year ago?
We might not be where we want to be—and we should honor that.
We’ve likely come a long way, and that deserves honoring too.
Life isn’t an either/or equation. It’s a paradox—a “this and that.” We’ve achieved so much, yet we still yearn to be further along. That duality, that tension, is the fuel that keeps humanity striving. It’s the beauty of being human: we possess the capacity to evolve if we will it. But we can also remain stuck if we allow complacency to take hold.
What excites me most about 2025 is the sense of a new kind of energy on the horizon. The past few years have felt like walking uphill through a storm. Each January brought the hope that this year would be better, only for life to push back, challenge after challenge, struggle after struggle. These years tested me—knocked me down repeatedly, even as I tried to stand firm.
But 2024 taught me something profound. It showed me I can stand up without life flicking me back to the ground. It revealed what it takes to develop that kind of strength: where my mind wavered, where my body felt weak, and where I could tap into a deeper reservoir of love, resilience, and faith in myself.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As I look toward 2025, I’m reminded that envisioning the future is powerful—but not everything will unfold as imagined. Some dreams will materialize; some won’t. Some outcomes will surpass expectations, while others will demand more time. And that’s okay—because everything worth having takes time.
This year, I’ve learned that the visions we hold clearly and desire authentically are within reach. But those that feel forced—goals we chase because we think we should—often fall short. This realization invites deeper self-inquiry:
Why do we want it?
Do we truly, deeply want it—or have we been conditioned to believe we should?
If we truly want it, what part of us is running from that vision? What part is running toward it? Can we align these parts of ourselves?
Reflecting and Reimagining
To close out the year and step intentionally into 2025, I’m offering two practices:
Inner Child Meditation & 2024 Review
The full moon illuminates what has surfaced throughout the year, giving us the clarity to reflect honestly:
What did you envision for 2024?
What came to pass?
What didn’t?
What exceeded your expectations?
What left you feeling underwhelmed or disappointed?
What feels too far?
What feels just out of reach?
What worked?
What didn’t?
For those big dreams that still feel distant, this meditation will help you tap into your inner child—the part of you that might still be running. Let’s see if we can get that part of you on board. The insights you gain here will fuel your vision for 2025.
Vision Writing Under January’s New Moon
You might be asking that is next? Mark your calendar for the first new moon of January. Together, we’ll meditate and write down our visions for 2025. This is about more than setting goals—it’s about understanding who we need to become to bring those visions to life.
